VOL XXI NO 2 |
THE PYRAMID 56ERS OF MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE |
MARCH/APRIL 2012 |
A Message from the President
I hope this finds everyone well and enjoying the beautiful spring
weather. For those of us with
allergies I know I have not been able to get out due to all the pollen and
particles in the air.
Spring
brings about new beginning’s, from the start of new outdoor projects, to the
flowers and trees beginning to bloom, to all that spring cleaning everyone wants
to start but never actually does, and
so it does it with our club.
The
February meeting saw the kickoff of the New Year at Russ and Jayne’s and once
again a fine meal with Russ’s chili and Jayne’s great homemade desserts.
They are always a hit with everyone. We then had the meeting and voted to
keep the existing officers in office for 2012.
We also decided to raise the door prize fee at the meetings from $2.00 to
$5.00 per person. We decided to make
this change due to the fact of increase pricing on purchasing new prizes and
that the club has not raised the dues in years.
This will allow us to buy new prizes and to allow for us to maybe use the
additional money for club functions etc. Nancy
donated several items that we will be using as prizes and we appreciate her
donations.
The
April meeting takes us to Ralph and Alinda’s on April 28th at 11:00
a.m. We will have a brief meeting and a wonderful meal.
We had scheduled the meeting again around the Double Decker Arts Festival
in Oxford so that way those of you who wish to attend may do so in the
afternoon.
I
look forward to seeing everyone on the 28th.
